April showers bring May flowers. And what do May flowers bring? Why festivals of course!

May is the perfect time to make that pilgrimage (yes, I got the pilgrim reference in there!) to one of the many area outdoor festivals before the real summer heat kicks in and we search for air-conditioned venues and activities.

So take a look at some of the exciting festivals and events for the whole family that the month of May has to offer. And don’t forget to honor our veterans during Memorial Day weekend. There are lots of great events taking place in honor of those who have served.

Happy Festival-ing!

 Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival

May 20-22

Galatyn Park

Richardson, Texas

The Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival began as a small community event in 1993 held in a local park in northeast Richardson, Texas. Over twenty years later, the festival has become one of the premier music events in the area. Originally a community event designed to celebrate the acres of wild flowers planted throughout the city each spring, Wildflower! quickly “blossomed” when national headlining entertainment was added after only the second year. Now the event has expanded with multiple stages, over 30 acres of arts, music, and family activities. The award-winning, multi-day eclectic arts event will live up to its reputation as North Texas’ largest music festival by featuring a variety of local and national acts performing the best in classic rock, R&B, country, pop, alt-rock, folk and Americana across six stages in Richardson’s Galatyn Park.
